Founder and CEO, Dara McLain, began investigating RF interference in 2002, while in the employ of Philips Healthcare. Prior to Philips she worked for Hewlett-Packard, in Microwave (HF) Test & Measurement, and Broadband Solutions.
As an engineer for Philips, Dara's primary responsibilities included investigating RF interference in the healthcare environment, from conducted interference to wireless interference. Her work has taken her all over the US and Canada.
During this time with Philips, she also recognized the need for healthcare provider to embrace EMC management, and learn to manage their own environment more efficiently, as many problems could be avoided through simple means. As a representative for Philips Healthcare, she began giving seminars on EMC Management at medical conferences and biomedical society meetings and symposiums.
Concurrently, she also became involved in the maintenance team (MT23) for Medical EMC Standards (IEC 60601-1-2), the AAMI EMC Committee, and other organizations involved in wireless application, in an effort to help bridge the gap between those standards and the ever changing medical environment.
In November of 2008, Dara left Philips and started her own consulting firm. With her extensive knowledge of the healthcare environment, RF background, and intense desire to help the healthcare industry provide the safest environment possible, she intends to adapt her business to address any EMC issue in the most economical way possible. |
